Even though I'm a seasoned blogger, I'm always learning new things on my blogging journey. Last week, I joined a Blogspot support group that helps other bloggers currently using Blogspot platform. One of the members gave some great information about photos and SEO. Google is unable to know what your pictures are unless you give it a title. If you've been following my blog, you may have noticed that I've been making a pretty good amount of income each month and it continues to grow. I'd like to start off by saying this, making money online is not easy! It takes hard work, dedication, and a whole lot of learning. Currently the majority of income I make online is through Affiliate Marketing Programs. Affiliate Marketing is when you get paid for sending a company leads, sign ups, or sales. It took me 4 or more years to make the income I currently make and I'd like to share with you how you can also make money every single month like I do- and even make money while you're sleeping! Below are some helpful tips: Tuesday at 10pm EST, I joined in on #BlogElevated Twitter Chat about topic "Bloggers and Taxes". It was a very informative chat that'll help bloggers know a bit better about handling their taxes and deductions. It's important to pay your taxes each year to stay in good graces with the IRS. You don't want to find yourself hit with penalties, fines, or worst, jail time for tax fraud! Below is a list of tips that'll help you know about taxes for bloggers. When I started blogging back in 2008, I solely depended on writer's platforms and search engines to bring traffic to this blog. Years has past, and now it's much more harder to receive traffic due to more blogs being created everyday which means more competition, Google is forever changing their algorithm, and so on. I really wish I worked harder on improving my traffic from the very beginning. Maybe it was because I was afraid of putting myself out there, people not liking what I do, or just not interested. Also I do remember the days when I first started blogging, I went about it the wrong way to get traffic by spamming my link everywhere. That's another reason why I stopped trying different ways to build my traffic and just relied on Squidoo and search engines. Now I'm in the full swing of networking and it has been working! Also I've been meeting some great new blogging friends along the way. Some people get caught by surprise how long I've been blogging and the knowledge I know. Here are some ways I've been networking to build up my blog traffic: Search engine optimization is always changing, and it is important to keep up with all of the most recent SEO news if you want to be successful at it. Although it can seem challenging to keep up with such a fast-changing industry, there are quite a few ways that you can stay up-to-date on all of the newest and most important SEO news. Guest blogging has long been one of the most popular ways for bloggers to promote their sites. Some bloggers were worried after they heard Matt Cutts’s most recent warning about spammy guest blogging strategies. The truth is that guest blogging is still a great online marketing. However, it is becoming harder to do it properly. Kalen Smith is an avid blogger, freelance writer and SEO consultant that built his career on guest blogging. Kalen recently created a new ebook to help other bloggers get more of a benefit from guest blogging. You can find this new ebook at his website Guestbloggingresources.com. His ebook helps bloggers develop the following skills: I can't believe how fast January came and gone! It was definitely a very busy month for me dealing with family life, a lot of networking online, working with PR companies on my other blog, and dealing with the ice storm that hit in Atlanta last week (I made it safely home before everything started icing up). January was a pretty good month in earnings considering that I'm still in my slow months. But I'm still on the mission to make a full time living working online, all I need is to work on making good income during the Winter months and then I'll be all set. Here are my January Totals:
